CHUM, a growing project of Canadian Foodgrains Bank invites you to help End Hunger. Harold Penner, Manitoba Regional Coordinator for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank will share an evening presentation entitled “Conservation Farming in Lesotho” on Tuesday, April 3 at 8:00pm at the Covenant Mennonite Church, 363 – 8th Street, Winkler, Manitoba. Recently returned from a study trip to Lesotho and Ethiopia, Harold will share stories and pictures from his time abroad. A free will offering will be taken for covering input costs for the “CHUM Growing Project”. Coffee time will follow the presentation.
Don’t miss the launching of the Fund Raising Project for the H.F. Wiebe Active Living Centre scheduled for April 12th. The event will be held at the Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church starting at 7:00 PM. The proposed Senior Centre will house Affordable Housing, Assisted Living, Supportive Housing and an Activity Centre. The Community is being asked to contribute 1.8Million Dollars over a 3 year period. The guest speaker will be Greg Hall, the man who helped rescue 33 miners in Chile. He has an amazing story to tell. Tickets are $22.00, plus fees and taxes, are available at the City of Winkler Ticket Office. Call 325-5600.
EDEN FOUNDATION presents Harmony for Hope. The Winkler Community Male Choir, under the direction of Ray Giesbrecht, together with the Eastman Male Choir, under the direction of Ed Hildebrand will be presenting a spring concert at the Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church, Sunday, April 29th @ 7:30 p.m. Come and enjoy both choirs as they perform individually and together as a 70-voice mass choir.
