Do you have an hour a week to make a difference for a child in your community? Our mission at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morden-Winkler is to provide mentors to children who need a mentor. We can think of no one better to mentor a child than people of faith. Currently, we are looking for In-School Mentors and Big Brothers. For more information call 204-325-9707 or email michael.penner@bigbrothersbigsisters.ca.

There are only 5 weeks left in Winkler Bible Camp’s winter Kids Zone semester and we’re having a bring-a-friend contest! Every time a kid brings a friend who has NEVER been to Kids Zone before, their name goes in a draw. On December 14th (the last week of Kids Zone until spring) we’ll draw one girl’s name and one boy’s name and they will win a free session of summer camp for 2014! Do you have kids grade 1-6 who need something to do on Saturday mornings? Kids Zone will be taking place at 10:00 every Saturday morning until December 14th in the gymnasium at Winkler Elementary School, unless otherwise specified. Get ready for an awesome time of singing, games, prizes, and creative Bible teaching. For more information visit www.winklerbiblecamp.com or get in touch with either Jordan Phillips or Sydney Schultz via email (kidszone@winklerbiblecamp.com) or phone (204-325-9519).

Want to volunteer? If you’re in grade 7 and up, arrive at 9:00 and you can help out with doing actions, handing out candy, and just hanging out with the kids who come! If you play an instrument/sing and want to help out with music, or if you’re in grade 9 and up and you’re interested in helping with the lesson, email Jordan to ask about being part of the music and/or teaching team!

Can a person praise God by running a cash register? Can we bring glory to God by tinkering and repairing things? Can we bless our creator by pricing things or hanging clothing? We’re trying to, come and join us! The Gospel Echoes Thrift Store in Winkler is seeking volunteers. If you’re interested, call Chris at 325-0095 or email mr.chrispauls@gmail.com.

The MB 2014 Winter Games Host Society is gearing up for the Winter Games to be held March 2 – 8th 2014. There will be an excess of 1000 volunteers needed from Winkler/ Morden and Rm of Stanley to be able to run the games. Volunteers are needed in many different skill sets from Sports to Food Services. Our main reason for contacting the churches is to peak the interest of retirees for areas such as food services, greeters, VIP drivers and like positions. If anyone is interested in being a part of the excitement of the games please contact the Volunteer Recruitment committee via email MB2014volunteers@hotmail.com or register to volunteer via the website www.manitobagames.ca. For information call (204) 331-3382 or host.society@sportmanitoba.ca.
